Deaf Awareness Training with Crown Paints

Deaf Village Group recently had the pleasure of visiting Crown Paints’ headquarters to deliver a Deaf Awareness training session as part of our ongoing work to improve accessibility, understanding and inclusion in workplaces across the region.

The session was led by our Wellbeing team, who shared lived experiences, practical guidance and key insights into Deaf culture and communication. The training focused on breaking down common misconceptions, building confidence when communicating with Deaf people, and exploring simple but effective adjustments that can make a real difference in everyday working environments.

Staff at Crown Paints engaged positively throughout the session, asking thoughtful questions and taking part in discussions around accessibility, wellbeing and inclusion. It was encouraging to see such enthusiasm and openness, and to hear how the training would help support Deaf colleagues and customers more effectively.

At Deaf Village Group, Deaf Awareness training is not just about information it’s about understanding, respect and meaningful change. Sessions like this help organisations create safer, more inclusive spaces where Deaf people feel valued and understood.

We would like to thank Crown Paints for welcoming our team and for their commitment to learning, wellbeing and inclusion. We look forward to continuing to work with partners who share our vision of breaking barriers and creating opportunity for the Deaf community.
