The White House is a historic 17th Century cottage, in the beautiful woodland valley on the cusp of Pleasington. The building has undergone a complete modern SMARThome refurbishment. Comprising of 5 living quarters and large communal living spaces, the White House is situated within the Deaf Village grounds where everyone here uses or is encouraged to learn British Sign Language.

Many of our residents have complex care needs or sensory difficulties that profoundly affect their lives. As 90% of Deaf children are born to hearing parents who may not sign (BDA, 2021), many experience early language delays and communication barriers.
At The White House, we provide a supportive, family-like environment where everyone learns, grows, and achieves independence together.

Community Partnerships
The White House residents have the opportunity to engage with wider services as directed by their individual social care support packages.

Residents can develop their independent life-skills that is Deaf-led and incorporates their journey of personal development and well-being through our partners at Our Deaf Hub.

Residents can be involved with the wider D/deaf community, enhancing their social skills and building up their support networks and friendships through our partners at Our Deaf Hub.

Our partners at Our Deaf Hub are also offer specialist support to Our Villagers, which encompasses helping our residents to transition into further/higher education and/or employment.
