We offer training and advice to employers and companies providing goods and services, including education establishments to raise awareness and break down barriers between the disabled community and non-disabled community, with a particular focus on breaking down communication barriers between the Deaf, hard of hearing community and the hearing community.
Our cost-effective training to organisations and employers to raise disability awareness and their responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act in creating greater awareness, especially to employers and frontline staff is proven to break down the barriers that many disabled people face on a daily basis when trying to access goods, services, employment, training and education.
A particular focus will be to provide cost-effective Deaf Awareness Training and Introduction to British Sign Language within organisations that provide goods and services to break down the communication barriers that Deaf and hard-of-hearing people face every day.

Disability Awareness Workshop
This course is for you if you are a manager wanting to increase your awareness and knowledge of recruiting or supporting disabled colleagues – as members of staff, volunteers or young people on work experience.
This course will provide you with a wider understanding of issues surrounding disabilities and long-term health conditions. It looks at ways how society can change and overcome barriers, and how adopting an inclusive approach can create and sustain employment for disabled individuals.

We have run a series of Deaf Awareness & Introduction to BSL Training Sessions for outside agencies, such as Lancashire Fire & Rescue, Lancashire Constabulary, BwD Adult Community Leaning Team, Job Centre Team Leaders, local schools etc… with tremendous success on breaking down the communication barriers and having a positive impact on how they see even little changes to how they operate, make a big difference to a Deaf person’s experience as a service user. The session lasts approximately 2.5 hours with a comfort break and refreshments.
